Meteor Shower November 17

A new Leonid Meteor Shower 2010 is expected to reach its peak visibility two to three hours before dawn on November 17 and 18, according to the editors of StarDate magazine.

NASA said, if skies are clear, stargazers should expect to see at least 15 meteors per hour.  The best viewing time for the Leonid Meteor Shower will be just before dawn, NASA added.

THE BIG BANG THEORY

Wil Wheaton is reprised his role as ‘Evil Wil Wheaton ‘ for a 3^rd time on Big Bang Theory tonight.  Wil Wheaton has been a surprisingly popular guest star on the hilarious sit com. The episode titled “The 21-Second Excitation” follows the series regulars as they camp out for a screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark that includes 21 seconds of never-before-seen footage and of course run into ‘Evil Wil Wheaton’ in the line up!

I had an enormous crush on Wil Wheaton when I was young after watching him in ‘Stand by Me’, and then watching him as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek The Next Generation.  It’s nice to see Wil Wheaton back on television and he plays the role of ‘Evil Wil Wheaton’ perfectly as the perfect nemesis to Jim Parson’s character of Sheldon.

Wil Wheaton will guest star again on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory on Thursday night.

Thursday Night Games On NFL Network

NFL Network has announced its programming schedule for November 10 through November 16 that includes fifth season Thursday Night Football kick off with Ravens vs. Falcons on Thursday, November 10 at 8:00 PM ET.

NFL Network begins Thursday Night Kickoff with pregame coverage at 6:00 PM ET. Rich Eisen, Marshall Faulk, Steve Mariucci, Deion Sanders and Kara Henderson are live on the scene at the Georgia Dome, while Fran Charles, Brian Billick, Jay Glazer, Kurt Warner, Sterling Sharpe and Jason La Canfora provide additional analysis from Los Angeles. The two-hour pregame also includes:

Ravens Vs. Falcons Thursday Night Football

Hey, what do you know, we have a game on Thursday night. And it's a pretty good matchup. The Baltimore Ravens travel south to visit the Atlanta Falcons. Both teams sit at 6-2, should be interesting.

Controlling the ball on offense has never been a problem for this year’s version of the Atlanta Falcons. They are seventh in the NFL averaging over 31 minutes a game and their lack of sharing continues in the first Thursday Night Football game of the year.

The Falcons have held possession for over 22 minutes on their way to a 13-0 lead in the third quarter. The Ravens, who are actually third in the NFL in time of possession, have had the ball only half as much.

JENNIFER LOPEZ is one of the most instantly recognisable Latino stars, with a level of worldwide fame many of her contemporaries can only dream of.

So it was only to be expected that Jennifer Lopez would steal the show as she arrived for the Latin Grammys in a figure-hugging mink dress tonight.

But while her famous curves were as eye-catching as ever, she had plenty of competition from the crowd of Latin American stars walking the red carpet in Las Vegas.

Dresses in every shade of the rainbow, along with lashings of make-up and over the top hair dos, were the order of the night.

On Sunday at 2 Am the U.S will move their clocks back one hour, which means that they will no longer be on daylight saving time. There are those of you who wonder why we still do this, and I am one of them. There are a number of things that we need to remember, but iPhone owners need to be extra careful.
Since the clocks started going back in other parts of the world iPhone users have been experiencing an issue with their alarm. All alarm times that were set have been going off one-hour later, which we discussed in a recent post. Apple has come up with a fix until iOS 4.2 is released, which is said to fully resolve the issue.

With the first Sunday in November – November 7 this year round – marking the “Spring forward, Fall back” ritual, Daylight Saving Time ends for much of the US; and the clocks will have to be adjusted to “fall” back by one hour.

The concept of Daylight Saving Time was first introduced to the world by Benjamin Franklin, in his essay “The Economic Project.” But, for nearly a year, the ides was not heeded to; and it was British builder William Willett who successfully proposed Daylight Saving Time to Parliament. Eventually, Parliament passed a law requiring the British to “spring” their clocks forward; and “fall back” in the winter.

NYC MARATHON

On Sunday, November 07, 2010 the NYC Marathon will take place. Runners of different nationalities will come to New York to join in the annual NYC Marathon. The NYC Marathon celebrated its 40th birthday in September.

The ING New York City Marathon is said to be as one of the best road races in the world. The NYC Marathon is a popular event with over 700,000 past participants, 2 million spectators to cheer therunners and 315 million television viewers worldwide. Annually, 100,000 applicants are usually joining the marathon to compete for $600,000 prize money. People who are joining the race may be celebrities, everyday people and world class athletes.

There will be plenty of recognizable runners in the crowd at the New York City Marathon on Sunday.

Al Roker, cancer survivor Ethan Zohn, Chilean miner Edison Peña, Howard Stern sidekick Robin Quivers, Anthony Edwards, Ryan Sutter and Veronica Webb are among this year's celebrity participants.

"Almost everybody's bucket list includes running the ING New York City Marathon," Roker said in a statement. "Just the though of being able to start this race gives me goose bumps. As does the fear that the weather might turn ugly."

The 2010 New York City Marathon will follow a route that takes runners through four of the Big Apple's five boroughs, and ends in the heart of Manhattan.
The marathon route begins at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, one of five that runners will cross, and winds through Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx, very briefly, before finishing in Central Park in Manhattan. It's almost entirely northbound until a left turn near the Major Deegan Expressway, and then follows a winding path back to Fifth Avenue, where it turns south for good.

Look for a crowd in the Missouri woods and Kansas fields Saturday.

The occasion? Opening day of the Missouri firearms deer season and the Kansas pheasant season.
About 450,000 hunters will be out for Missouri deer and 125,000 for Kansas gamebirds.

Early in the morning or late in the afternoon, farm and grasslands as far as the eye can see take on a rich, golden cast that Jeff White recognized 29 years ago when he started a pheasant hunting operation in Haskell County and called it Golden Prairie Hunting Service.

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin on Nov. 4 officially dedicated a newly expanded pheasant rearing complex at the state-owned Rockport Pheasant Farm in Mansfield Township. The new complex, expected to raise more than 55,000 pheasants annually, was created at no cost to taxpayers, with the $1.3 million project financed by sportsmen's fees and stamps, the commissioner said.

The pheasant complex unveiled today includes a new brooder house, egg incubators and hatching room. These upgrades create a modern operation that includes automatic egg turning in forced-air circulating incubators, and automated feeding.
Funding for the project was provided through the Hunters and Anglers account within the Division of Fish and Wildlife; no state tax dollars were used. The cost of raising and stocking pheasants is also entirely borne by hunters who purchase pheasant stamps in addition to their hunting licenses. This makes the Rockport facility a prime example of a "user pays" system.
